Alumni Ceremony of Eurasian Academic Anti-Corruption Network Hubs
29 May 2021
On May 27-28, 2021, a congratulatory ceremony was held for the graduates of the Eurasian Academic Anti-Corruption Network Hubs (Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova). The event was attended by representatives of civil society. In Georgia, the Certification Program in Fighting Corruption is coordinated by the Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI). Davit Maisuradze, Open Government Direction Head of IDFI, took part in the event.
Davit Maisuradze made a presentation to the participants of the meeting on the synergy of the Open Government Partnership (OGP) and the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) or the importance for the state to be a member of both OGP and EITI at the same time. It should be noted that despite the active advocacy of non-governmental organizations, Georgia is still not a member of EITI, which reduces the effectiveness of the results of the Open Government Partnership (OGP). Ukraine, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, and Afghanistan, countries of Eastern Europe and Central Asia are the members of both OGP and EITI.
The Certification Program in Fighting Corruption in Georgia is underway for the second year in a row, in cooperation with Ilia State University. The 2020-2021 Spring Study Semester will end in July 2021.
The Certification Program in Fighting Corruption in Georgia is financially supported by the Open Society Foundations (OSGF) that promotes the development of sustainable human resources to combat corruption.
